While Botox® treatments have been around for a while, they have become much more mainstream in the United States as the procedure is accessible for everyday men and women. After the operation patients may experience slight bruising around the area that quickly fades.  Normal activities can be performed right away, as if nothing had happened at all.  Possible side effects are temporary weakness of nearby muscles, or in some very rare cases an eyelid may droop.  Botox® is reversible so any side effect is only a temporary condition, a big advantage over more permanent procedures that other cosmetic surgeries offer.  The doctor will explain all risks associated at the time of your consultation, and help to determine if Botox® will actually treat the lines on your face that you would most like to see reduced.
